Biography
Inspiral Carpets, formed in Oldham, England, in 1983, were a key Madchester era band, built around Graham Lambert's guitar and Clint Boon's organ. The classic line-up with Tom Hingley, Martyn Walsh and Craig Gill produced four albums for #Mute Records# between 1990 and 1994, including 'Life' and 'Devil Hopping'. Reunions in 2003 and 2023, and a 2014 album with original singer Stephen Holt, have kept the band active.
