Biography
Iris DeMent is an Arkansas-born country-folk singer-songwriter whose debut 'Infamous Angel' (1992) is a modern classic of plainspoken American songwriting. Her records, including 'My Life', 'The Way I Should' and 'Sing the Delta', and her duets with *John Prine*, pair unflinching lyrics with one of the most affecting voices in country music. Few contemporary songwriters write about family and faith with her honesty.
