Biography
Isotope was a British jazz rock band formed in June 1972 around guitarist Gary Boyle and drummer Nigel Morris. Their debut 'Isotope' appeared on #Gull# in 1974, followed the same year by 'Illusion', recorded with former *Soft Machine* bassist Hugh Hopper and keyboard player Laurence Scott. A reshaped line-up made the third album 'Deep End' in 1975, after which label and management problems broke the band up. Isotope remain a noted Canterbury scene linked fusion act, with all three studio albums reissued by #Esoteric Recordings#.
