John Greaves

Biography

Welsh bassist and composer best known for Henry Cow, where his melodic bass playing and songs helped shape British avant-rock between 1969 and 1976. With *Peter Blegvad* he created 'Kew. Rhone.', and he later played with National Health and Soft Heap. His solo albums, including 'Accident', 'Parrot Fashions' and 'The Caretaker', blend progressive rock, jazz and art song with a quiet, literate wit.
