Kafka

Biography

Emerging from São Paulo’s underground 1980s post-punk scene, Kafka was an experimental rock band fronted by vocalist and guitarist Abrão Levin. Known for their blend of darkwave, gothic rock, psychedelic textures, and jazz-inflected saxophones, the group brought atmospheric complexity to Brazilian alternative music. Released via the iconic Baratos Afins label in 1987, their cult debut album Musikanervosa showcased dark, literary songwriting before the band expanded into broader sonic territory.
