Biography
Kollektiv were a German krautrock band formed in Krefeld in 1970 by brothers Waldo and Jogi Karpenkiel with Jürgen Havix and Klaus Dapper. Their music fused psychedelic rock, electronics and jazz improvisation, documented on a single studio album, 'Kollektiv' (1973, #Brain Records#), and a 1973 radio session released decades later. The quartet is now prized by collectors as one of the most jazz-literate German bands of the era.
