Biography
Kraan are a German band from Ulm, formed in 1970, who fuse jazz, rock and funk and are counted among the defining acts of Krautrock's jazzier wing. The founding quartet of Peter Wolbrandt, Hellmut Hattler, Jan Fride Wolbrandt and Johannes Pappert recorded four studio albums before keyboardist Ingo Bischof became a long serving fifth member in 1975. Despite splits in the 1980s and 1990s, the Wolbrandt, Hattler and Fride trio reformed in 2000 and still records and tours, with studio albums running from 'Kraan' (1972) to 'All In' (2026).
