Biography
Leatherface was a punk band from Sunderland, formed in August 1988 by Frankie Stubbs and Dickie Hammond and named after the 'Texas Chain Saw Massacre' villain. Albums including 'Cherry Knowle' (1989) and 'Mush' (1991) made the band one of the most respected British punk groups of its era, admired for Stubbs's rasping vocals and melodic songwriting. After a 1994 split and a 1998 reunion, Leatherface released 'Horsebox' (2000), 'Dog Disco' (2004) and 'The Stormy Petrel' (2010), ending in 2012.
