Biography
Argentine rock pioneers from Rosario, active 1967 to 1970. Fronted by Litto Nebbia, Los Gatos scored a massive hit with the 1967 single 'La balsa', a landmark that proved rock sung in Spanish could succeed commercially and effectively started Argentine rock. Five studio albums moved from beat and psychedelic pop toward the harder blues rock of 'Beat No. 1' and 'Rock de la mujer perdida' after guitarist Pappo replaced Kay Galifi. The band split in 1970 and reunited briefly in 2007.
