Biography
Mainliner are a Tokyo psychedelic noise trio formed in 1995 by guitarist Makoto Kawabata and bassist Asahito Nanjo. Albums from 'Mellow Out' to 'Imaginative Plain' set fuzz-drenched riffs and extended solos at punishing volume. After a hiatus, Kawabata revived the band with drummer Koji Shimura and bassist Taigen Kawabe for 'Revelation Space' in 2013 and 'Dual Myths' in 2021, continuing one of Japanese underground rock's most extreme power-trio legacies and its links to *Acid Mothers Temple* and *High Rise*.
