Biography
English jazz-rock group formed in London in 1970 by Jon Mark and Johnny Almond after playing together in *John Mayall's Bluesbreakers*. With a fluid supporting line-up, they recorded literate, jazz-inflected folk-rock for #Blue Thumb Records# and #Columbia Records#, notably 'Mark-Almond II' and 'Rising'. They split in 1973, reunited later in the decade, and disbanded in the early 1980s. Their music remains a cult favourite.
