Biography
Matmos is an experimental electronic music duo from San Francisco, formed in 1995 by M. C. Schmidt and Drew Daniel and now based in Baltimore. The pair compose from sampled everyday and unusual sounds, from crayfish nerve activity on their 1997 debut 'Matmos' to surgical procedures on 'A Chance to Cut Is a Chance to Cure' (2001). Frequent collaborators rather than additional members include J Lesser, who has guested on several albums and toured with the duo. Matmos also worked with *Bj枚rk* on record and on tour, and have released albums on #Matador Records# and #Thrill Jockey#.
