Mendelson

Biography

French alternative rock band founded in 1995 around singer Pascal Bouaziz. Mendelson's literate, melancholic songs, sung in Bouaziz's low conversational voice, run from 'L'avenir est devant' through 'Seul au sommet' to the political song cycle 'Sciences politiques'. The band is a quiet landmark of French-language rock, little known outside France. Their catalogue rewards the slowcore and chanson influences audible throughout it.
