Biography
Messiah is a pioneering Swiss metal band formed in 1984, known for their evolution from death/thrash metal to a more industrial/gothic sound. They released their influential debut album 'Hymn to Abramelin' in 1986, followed by the classic 'Extreme Cold Weather'. Their period with #Noise Records# produced the notable albums 'Choir of Horrors' and 'Rotten Perish', solidifying their place in the extreme metal scene. After a stylistic shift on their 1994 album 'Underground', which featured vocals from *Therion*'s *Christofer Johnsson*, the band disbanded in 1995. They reformed in 2017, returning to their death/thrash roots and have since released new material, proving their lasting impact on the genre.
