Biography
Reading-born guitarist and singer-songwriter whose early albums 'Oh Really!?' (1969) and 'Trout Steel' (1970) are landmarks of British folk-blues. Mike Cooper later abandoned song form for free improvisation, playing in *The Recedents* with *Lol Coxhill*, and from the 1990s built a second career in ambient exotica with lap steel and electronics for #Room40#. He has lived in Spain and Italy for decades and still performs worldwide.
