Biography
Mort Garson was a Canadian composer, arranger, and a pioneering figure in electronic music. After studying at Juilliard and working as a pop songwriter, co-penning the hit 'Our Day Will Come' for *Ruby & The Romantics*, his career took a transformative turn when he encountered the Moog synthesizer. This led to a series of influential and often surreal albums in the late 1960s and 1970s. His most famous work, 'Mother Earth's Plantasia', was created as 'warm earth music for plants'. Other notable works include the occult-themed 'Black Mass' (as *Lucifer*) and 'The Zodiac: Cosmic Sounds'. His unique blend of kitsch, experimentalism, and melody secured his legacy as a cult icon whose work was rediscovered by new generations.
