Musi-O-Tunya

Biography

Musi-O-Tunya were a Zambian Zamrock band named after the Tonga name for Victoria Falls. Led by guitarist Rikki Ililonga and recorded in Nairobi, Kenya, their debut 'Wings of Africa' (1975) blends traditional Zambian rhythms, funk and psychedelic rock. After Ililonga left for a solo career, the band released a second album, 'Give Love to Your Children', in 1976. Reissues by #Now-Again Records# from 2010 onward introduced their two albums to a worldwide audience.
