Biography
Founded in Landshut in 2002 by Steffen Kummerer, Obscura are one of the leading names in technical death metal. Albums from 'Cosmogenesis' and 'Omnivium' to 'A Valediction' combine punishing precision with progressive ambition and cosmological themes, while Kummerer rebuilds the line-up around his guitar and vocals for each cycle. 'A Sonication', released in 2025 on #Nuclear Blast#, opened the band's latest chapter with guitarist Kevin Olasz, drummer James Stewart and bassist Robin Zielhorst alongside the founder.
