Biography
American Paisley Underground band formed in Los Angeles in 1983, first as Clay Allison, by David Roback, Kendra Smith and Keith Mitchell. After the early EPs 'Fell from the Sun' and 'Northern Line', their only studio album 'Happy Nightmare Baby' appeared on #SST Records# in 1987. Smith left during the tour, and Roback's continuation of the band with Hope Sandoval became *Mazzy Star* in 1989.
