Biography
Finnish electronic duo of Mika Vainio and Ilpo Väisänen, formed in Turku in 1993 and first known as Panasonic. Released through #Sähkö Recordings# and #Blast First#, Pan Sonic reduced techno to pulses, sine tones and industrial rhythm on albums including 'Vakio', 'Kulma' and 'Kesto (234.48:4)'. Their stark, high-volume sound influenced minimal techno, noise and drone music worldwide. The duo split in 2009, with the posthumous-to-the-project 'Gravitoni' following in 2010.
