Biography
Phoenix are an indie pop band from Versailles, France, formed in 1995 by Thomas Mars, Deck d'Arcy and Christian Mazzalai, with guitarist Laurent Brancowitz completing the lineup in 1996. The four childhood friends released 'United' (2000) and built slowly to 'Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix' (2009), whose singles '1901' and 'Lisztomania' won them a Grammy Award for Best Alternative Music Album. 'Bankrupt!' (2013), 'Ti Amo' (2017) and 'Alpha Zulu' (2022) followed, all with the same unchanged lineup.
