Phosphorescent

Biography

Phosphorescent is the solo project of Matthew Houck, an Alabama-born singer-songwriter who started the name in Athens, Georgia in 2001 after recording as Fillup Shack. His albums move from the ramshackle folk of 'Aw Come Aw Wry' (2005) to the widescreen ache of 'Muchacho' (2013), whose 'Song for Zula' became a signature song. Now based in Nashville, he remains one of indie folk's most distinctive voices.
