Biography
Pierrot Lunaire were an Italian avant-prog and progressive folk band formed in Rome in 1974 by Gaio Chiocchio, *Vincenzo Caporaletti* and Arturo Stalteri. Their debut album 'Pierrot Lunaire' (1974) was song based and folk inflected. After Caporaletti left, 'Gudrun' (1977), with singer Jacqueline Darby and drummer Massimo Buzzi, moved into free form experimental territory and became a cult classic of Italian progressive rock, admired for its mix of classical, folk and electronic influences.
