Biography

Pyotr Tchaikovsky was a Russian composer of the Romantic period and the first Russian composer whose music made a lasting international impression. His works are celebrated for their tuneful, open-hearted melodies, impressive harmonies, and colorful orchestration. Tchaikovsky's most popular compositions include his three ballets, 'Swan Lake', 'The Sleeping Beauty', and 'The Nutcracker', which have become cornerstones of the classical repertoire. He also composed celebrated orchestral works such as the '1812 Overture', 'Romeo and Juliet', and his powerful symphonies, including the final 'Symphony No. 6 (Path茅tique)'.
