Biography
Radio Futura was one of the most important Spanish bands to emerge after the Franco era, and alongside *Parálisis Permanente*, *Gabinete Caligari* and *Alaska y los Pegamoides* a defining act of the movida madrileña. Formed in Madrid in 1979 around Santiago Auserón, Luis Auserón and Enrique Sierra, the band began under British new wave influence, then developed a distinctive sound that absorbed Caribbean and Latin rhythms, culminating in 'La canción de Juan Perro' (1987). They split in 1992.
