Biography
Red Red Meat was an American indie rock band from Chicago, active 1990–1997, led by Tim Rutili with Glynis Johnson, Brian Deck and Glenn Girard. Their four albums, from 'Red Red Meat' (1993) to 'There's a Star Above the Manger Tonight' (1997), evolved from bluesy indie rock toward experimental Americana; Rutili later formed *Califone*. Members Brian Deck and Ben Massarella remained central figures in Chicago's independent music community for decades afterwards.
