Biography
Republika was a Polish rock and new wave band from Toruń, led by Grzegorz Ciechowski with Zbigniew Krzywański, Paweł Kuczyński and Sławomir Ciesielski. Its albums 'Nowe Sytuacje' (1983) and 'Nieustanne Tango' (1984) brought a black and white image and poetic, anti mainstream songs to the front of Polish rock. After a 1986 split, the band reunited in 1990 with Leszek Biolik on bass for three more studio albums, ending with Ciechowski's death in 2001.
