Roy Hargrove

A brilliant and beloved trumpeter who was a leading figure of the 'Young Lions' movement and one of the most versatile musicians of his generation. Hargrove was a master of the hard bop tradition, known for his warm tone and soulful improvisations. He was also a fearless explorer who seamlessly bridged the worlds of jazz, hip-hop, and R&B, most famously with his groundbreaking group The RH Factor. His composition 'Strasbourg / St. Denis' has become a modern jazz standard, beloved for its infectious groove.
