Roy Hargrove was a brilliant and beloved trumpeter, a leading figure of the 'Young Lions' movement, and one of the most versatile musicians of his generation. Mentored by *Wynton Marsalis*, Hargrove was a master of the hard bop tradition, known for his warm tone and soulful improvisations. He was also a fearless explorer who seamlessly bridged the worlds of jazz, hip-hop, and R&B, most famously with his groundbreaking group The RH Factor on the #Verve# album 'Hard Groove'. His Grammy-winning Afro-Cuban project Crisol and his composition 'Strasbourg / St. Denis' further cemented his legacy as a pivotal and influential artist.
