Sahara

Biography

Sahara were a Munich progressive rock band formed in 1973 when Subject Esq. signed to #Pan# and changed their name. Their debut 'Sunrise' (1974) paired British-style symphonic prog with a side-long title suite, and 'For All the Clowns' (1975) turned toward a more polished melodic sound. Only keyboardists Hennes Hering and Michael Hofmann and bassist Stefan Wissnet played on both albums. Sahara split in 1977 after repeated lineup changes, though the two records have kept a cult reputation among krautrock and prog collectors.
