Saor
- Type: Band/Group
- Born: 2012 in Glasgow, Scotland, United Kingdom
Biography
One-man project of Glasgow musician Andy Marshall, formed in 2012 and named with the Gaelic word for 'free'. Saor fuses atmospheric black metal with Scottish folk instruments — tin whistle, bagpipes, bodhrán — in long compositions about Highland landscape, heritage and loss. Albums for #Northern Silence Productions# and #Season of Mist#, from 'Roots' (2013) to 'Origins' (2022) and 'Amidst the Ruins' (2025), have made it a leading name in Celtic metal.
