Scraping Foetus Off the Wheel is a mid-1980s incarnation of Foetus, the solo project of Australian-born, New York-based JG Thirlwell. Under this name he released 'Nail' (1985) on #Some Bizzare Records#, part of a run of albums that smashed together swing, industrial noise, soundtrack music and cabaret. Thirlwell performs virtually everything himself and has also worked as *Clint Ruin* and with the projects Steroid Maximus and Manorexia, alongside a later career scoring animation and collaborating across the avant-garde.
