Biography
Shelleyan Orphan was an English duo from Bournemouth, formed in 1980 by singer Caroline Crawley and guitarist Jemaur Tayle and named for a poem by *Percy Bysshe Shelley*. Their albums 'Helleborine' (1987) and 'Century Flower' (1989) for #Rough Trade Records# mixed acoustic pop with strings, woodwind and harp. *The Cure* took the duo on tour in 1989, and members of that band played on 'Humroot' (1992). The duo split, reunited for a final album, 'We Have Everything We Need' (2008), and ended with Crawley's death in 2016.
