Shibusashirazu

Shibusashirazu, often called Shibusashirazu Orchestra, is a monumental Japanese free-jazz collective formed by bassist and composer Daisuke Fuwa. Known for their spectacular live performances, the ensemble is a multimedia spectacle, incorporating Butoh dancers, actors, and large-scale visual art into their shows. Their sound is a chaotic yet joyous fusion of '60s free jazz, punk rock, no-wave, and traditional Japanese music, creating a unique and accessible avant-garde experience. The orchestra has a sprawling, ever-changing lineup that has included many of Japan's most notable jazz musicians. They gained international recognition through extensive European tours and celebrated performances at festivals like Glastonbury and Fuji Rock.
