Sieben

Biography

Solo project of Sheffield based English violinist and singer Matt Howden, founded in 1999. Sieben is a one man performance built on Howden's looped, layered Kevlar electric violin and voice, moving between neoclassical, dark folk and chanson. Early albums include 'Sex and Wildflowers' (2003) and 'Ogham Inside the Night' (2005); later records on #Redroom Records#, including '2020 Vision' (2020), turn to angry, political songwriting.
