sphere

Biography

sphere is a Japanese shoegaze band formed in 2007 by guitarist Makoto Gomi. On his #Tetrahedron# label the band released 'Echo and Narcissus', 'Separation and Diffusion' and 'syvyys' between 2008 and 2011, blending dense shoegaze guitars with progressive rhythms and piano. After an eleven-year break, sphere returned in 2022 with vocalist Shoko Inoue fronting a renewed lineup. The act is distinct from the same-named Japanese idol unit and jazz groups.
