Biography
Steel Pulse is a Birmingham roots reggae band formed in 1975, led since the start by singer David Hinds with keyboardist Selwyn Brown. From 'Handsworth Revolution' through the Grammy-winning 'Babylon the Bandit', they carried militant, jazz-inflected British reggae to a worldwide audience, and remain active with the album 'Mass Manipulation' (2019) closing a fifteen-year studio gap. They remain one of the most important British reggae bands of all time.
