Biography
String Driven Thing is a Scottish folk rock band formed in Glasgow in 1967, led by Chris and Pauline Adams and featuring Graham Smith's electric violin. After a rare 1970 debut on #Concord#, the band signed to #Charisma# and released 'String Driven Thing' in 1972 and 'The Machine That Cried' in 1973, while their song 'It's a Game' later became a hit for the *Bay City Rollers*. Smith led a later line-up through two more albums, and the band has re-formed periodically since 1991.
