Suicide

Suicide

Suicide was an American musical duo formed in New York City and active intermittently between 1970 and 2016. [1] Composed of vocalist Alan Vega and instrumentalist Martin Rev, the group defined a minimalist and confrontational approach to electronic music. [1] Rev’s primitive drum machine patterns and abrasive synthesizer riffs provided a stark backdrop for Vega’s rockabilly-inspired, reverb-drenched vocals. [5, 16] Though never broadly popular, their aggressive, pioneering sound served as a blueprint for synth-punk, post-punk, and industrial music, and its influence was later acknowledged by a wide range of artists.
