Sunn O))) is an American experimental drone metal band formed in Seattle in 1998 by core members *Stephen O'Malley* and *Greg Anderson*. Drawing profound inspiration from the minimalist doom of *Earth*, the duo creates tectonic soundscapes built on heavily distorted, down-tuned guitars and vintage Sunn amplifiers, from which they derive their name. Their music eschews conventional rhythm and melody in favor of immersive, physically resonant low-frequency vibrations. Renowned for their intensely loud and meditative live performances, Sunn O))) frequently collaborates with a diverse array of musicians, including vocalist *Attila Csihar* and the late *Scott Walker*.
