Biography
The 13th Floor Elevators was an American rock band formed in Austin, Texas, in 1965 by Roky Erickson, Stacy Sutherland and Tommy Hall, whose amplified jug gave the group its signature sound. Their 1966 single 'You're Gonna Miss Me' was a national hit, and their debut album on #International Artists# helped launch psychedelic rock. After 'Easter Everywhere' in 1967 and the Sutherland led 'Bull of the Woods' in 1969, drug related legal problems and Erickson's illness broke the band up.
