Biography
The Paul Butterfield Blues Band, formed in Chicago in 1963, was the flagship group of the 1960s American blues revival. Led by harmonica player Paul Butterfield and powered at various times by guitarists Mike Bloomfield and Elvin Bishop, the band moved from raw Chicago blues on its 1965 #Elektra# debut to horn-driven, jazz-tinged rock before disbanding in 1971. The band was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2015.
