Biography
Irish folk band formed in Dublin in 1962 by Ronnie Drew, Luke Kelly, Barney McKenna and Ciarán Bourke, with John Sheahan joining in 1964. Their rough pub style and the 1967 hit 'Seven Drunken Nights' made them the defining Irish folk group, and successive line-ups kept the band touring for fifty years until they retired in 2012 following McKenna's death.
