Los Angeles power pop band formed in 1976 by the Nolte brothers, Joe, Mike and David. The Last mixed surf, garage and psychedelia on the acclaimed debut 'L.A. Explosion!' (1979) for #Bomp!#, split in the mid 1980s, then reformed for #SST# with 'Confession' (1988), influencing later Los Angeles bands including *The Bangles* and *The Three O'Clock*. The early lineup still performs occasionally in Southern California, keeping the original songs alive live.
