Biography
The Red Krayola is an experimental rock band formed in Houston, Texas, in 1966 and led ever since by Mayo Thompson. The original trio's albums 'The Parable of Arable Land' (1967) and 'God Bless the Red Krayola' (1968) pioneered psychedelic improvisation, and Thompson has sustained the project through decades of shifting collaborators up to the present day. The group's name was respelled from Crayola to Krayola in 1970.
