Biography
The Work was an English avant-rock group founded in 1980 by *Henry Cow* alumnus Tim Hodgkinson with Bill Gilonis, Mick Hobbs and Rick Wilson. Released on their own #Woof Records#, 'Slow Crimes' (1982) fused post-punk energy with complex composition. The band split after a 1982 Japanese tour, reformed in 1989 for 'Rubber Cage' and 'See' (1992), and played its final concerts in 1994.
