Biography
The World Is a Beautiful Place & I Am No Longer Afraid to Die are an emo band formed in Willimantic, Connecticut, in 2009. Bassist Josh Cyr is the only remaining founder of a collective whose lineup has changed often. Their debut 'Whenever, If Ever' (2013), released by #Topshelf Records#, was a landmark of the emo revival, and 'Harmlessness' (2015) and 'Always Foreign' (2017) followed on #Epitaph#. After the long-form 'Illusory Walls' (2021), the six-piece of Cyr, Steven Buttery, Chris Teti, David F. Bello, Katie Dvorak and Anthony Gesa turned heavier on 'Dreams of Being Dust' (2025).
