Biography
Tyrannosaurus Rex was the psychedelic folk duo of Marc Bolan and percussionist Steve Peregrin Took, formed in London in 1967 and championed by BBC DJ *John Peel*. Its three albums for #Regal Zonophone Records#, produced by *Tony Visconti*, made the duo favourites of the London underground with songs steeped in fantasy and folklore. Mickey Finn replaced Took for 'A Beard of Stars' (1970), after which Bolan shortened the name to *T. Rex*.
