Virus

Biography

Virus was an avant-garde rock band formed in Oslo, Norway, in 2000. Envisioned by leader Carl-Michael 'Czral' Eide as a continuation of the musical spirit of his former project *Ved Buens Ende*, the band forged a unique sound that defied easy categorization. Their style incorporated dissonant, jazz-inflected guitar work, unconventional rhythms, and surreal lyricism, drawing comparisons to artists like *Voivod* and *Talking Heads*. The trio, which included bassist Petter Berntsen and drummer Einar Sjursø, released their debut album 'Carheart' in 2003 on #Jester Records#. Over an eighteen-year career, Virus cultivated a dedicated following for their challenging and distinctive take on experimental rock before disbanding in 2018.
