Album Notes & Community Reviews
Released in August 2003, 'Carheart' is the debut studio album by the Norwegian avant-garde metal band Virus. Formed by Carl-Michael Eide (Czral) following the dissolution of Ved Buens Ende, the band introduced a highly idiosyncratic sound blending dissonant, Voivod-esque guitar chords with driving post-punk rhythms. The album's surreal, desert-rock-infused take on extreme metal established the trio as a wildly original force within the Norwegian underground.
