Biography
Chicago band Whitney, built around guitarist Max Kakacek and singing drummer Julien Ehrlich, play indie folk and soft rock warmed by horns and close harmonies. Their debut 'Light Upon the Lake' (2016) on #Secretly Canadian# became a slow burning favourite, followed by 'Forever Turned Around', the covers set 'Candid', the pop leaning 'Spark' and 'Small Talk'. Ehrlich's high, vulnerable voice, sung from behind the drum kit, is the band's unmistakable centre.
